A Family Affair: Filipin@ LGBTQ Panel by Barangay LA

As some of you may know I am currently serving as Director of Advocacy for Barangay Los Angeles. We will be presenting a Filipin@ LGBTQ panel as part of the Southern California Pilipino American Student Alliance”s 2012 summit!

We have been fortunate enough to be scheduled for TWO workshop sessions. If you are available on February 11, 2012 and would like to join us and listen to some stories and get some questions answered, this is your chance!

A Family Affair:  Filipin@ LGBTQ Panel by Barangay LA

A panel with members and allies of the LGBTQ Filipin@ community share their experiences and stories. This is a safe space workshop where participants will be able to get insight on the unique experiences of LGBTQ Filipin@s and how they maneuver multiple parts of their identities and issues specific to the Filipino community. Participants will also get a chance to ask questions.

APAAC January 28th at UC Irvine

Hello 2012!

Looks like it’s time to get the ball rolling with the first speaking engagement of the year!

I’m happy and feel very fortunate to say that myself, allisantos along with Pearl Girls Productions, will be conducting a workshop at The 27th Annual Asian Pacific American Awareness Conference (APAAC) at the University of California, Irvine.

We’ll be talking about “That’s What She Said” and the journey to create an Asian American Queer web series.

It’ll be 3 years since I’ve graduated from there, so it’ll be exciting to see new and hopefully familiar faces.

The Movement: Then and Now
